The Fresno-based team is one of best in Women's Football

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- There is no feeling quite like it.

"Really it's just the adrenaline rush, when you get out there, there's no other sport like football," said War Angels wide receiver Lisa King.

A sentiment shared by the entire Central Cal War Angels football team.

"I feel like there's a more trash talk than the guys, a lot more trash talk which is fun because you get shut them down with your skills, with not only words," said War Angels running back Destanie Yarbrough.

Lisa King loves football so much that she and her husband head coach Jeff King helped co-found the team back in 2010.

"I think we play football how football is supposed to be played. We have a lot of hard working girls and we are the only team in the Fresno area," said War Angels head coach Jeff King.

The War Angels play a very exciting brand of football, it's up-tempo offense, hard-hitting defense and the roster includes players from across the country and all walks of life.

"We have police officers, personal trainers, teachers," said Lisa King. "Pretty much anything, we in all shapes and sizes."

"You look at us on that field you won't know we are girls until we take our helmets off, if you want to play a sport you go for it.Don't let anybody tell you can't do something," said Yarbrough. "Believe to achieve is the motto I go by and that's what I pass down to the kids I coach."

The War Angels host their regular season finale at Fresno City College on Saturday June 4th at 5:00 P.M.
