Group of Valley veterans gathered for a special reunion

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Eight veterans of The Korean War who all served on board the same ship traveled from all over the country for a special reunion.

Fred Machado is a well-known Fresno County farmer and a Korean War Veteran. He hosted a barbecue at his Fresno County home to catch up with seven other vets. All the Navy sailors served on board the USS Montague from 1951 to 1955. They say they've maintained a close friendship ever since.

The veterans traveled from as far away as Iowa, New Jersey and Kansas to attend the celebration.
