VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A South Valley man has been found guilty of sexually abusing two underage female students while he was working at a Visalia middle school.

Thursday afternoon, jurors convicted 29-year-old Luis Lopez of 15 felony counts. Prosecutors alleged the former Campus Supervisor at Valley Oak molested an eighth grader on school grounds multiple times, and had sex with her twice.

Lopez also molested a 13-year-old girl in the school's nurse's office.

Lopez will be sentenced September 1st and faces a maximum of more than 21 years in prison.

"We will be arguing for the appropriate sentence in this case, obviously this is extremely horrendous conduct and we'll make our arguments to the court on the day of sentencing," said David Alavezos, Tulare County Assistant District Attorney.

Lopez's family told us they will appeal the conviction, saying there is evidence that was not allowed in this trial that proves his innocence.
