Juvenile arrested for attempted murder

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Selma police have arrested a juvenile on attempted murder charges.

Officers say the suspect shot a 31-year-old man several times near Eric White Elementary School Friday afternoon.

Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital and he remains in critical condition.

Authorities recovered the gun and detained the suspect within five minutes of arriving at the scene. The suspect was arrested after being positively identified by witnesses and questioned by detectives.

The shooting is believed to be gang related.
