MADERA RANCHOS (KFSN) -- About 2,000 people who live in the Madera Ranchos will be banned from all outdoor watering under stage four water restrictions.

The Silvas family is worried about the potential drop in home prices in their area after major water cuts.

"It's not really a good thing because now our neighborhood is going to look rundown because of dead lawns and no plants and trees are going to be dying," said Mike Silva.

More than 2000 people who live in the Madera Ranchos community won't be allowed to water outdoors starting Thursday. The move came after people who live between Ave. 12 and Road 37 experienced serious pressure problems.

"The ground water pressure is very low. It's hard to take a shower you know," said Randy Canady.

Local leaders say the pressure drops drastically because of the declining water table during this historic drought and the current well supply just isn't enough to meet everyone's needs.

"What we are trying to do is prevent residents from system failure. We don't want the system to drop to levels where they have to boil their water and they can't drink their water," said public works director Johannes Hoevertz.

Anyone caught watering outside will face a fines. Violations are $75 (first violation), $125 (second violation), $175 (third violation).
