A Nebraska man has been arrested for allegedly forcing a woman into a so-called slave contract, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

Nicholas Allen Talbot, 35, of Lincoln, Neb. was charged with second-degree domestic assault, after allegedly forcing a 32-year-old woman to sign what he allegedly called a slave contract on Jan. 15. The document said that the woman "only had the rights the master gave her," according to the Lincoln Journal Star. Abuse that Talbot allegedly inflicted upon the woman include whipping her, burning her with lighters and making her drink his own urine several times throughout the day.

On Monday, the woman in question told her pastor and another woman that Talbot had hurt her, showing them several wounds on her body, and then called the police.

"They were horrific," Rev. Kathy Gouin at Lincoln Foursquare Church told the Lincoln Journal Star. ""She's very sweet and innocent . . . she's a vulnerable young woman."

Police say they found several burn marks on the woman's body which had been allegedly inflicted by Talbot. The woman also had the message "PROPERTY OF NICK" written by Talbot on her left arm, the Lincoln Journal Star reports. The woman told investigators that Talbot had abused her for nearly 10 years and was afraid to talk to authorities, police said. The woman was under the impression that officers were part of Talbot's "company" or "gang," and that he had threatened to have her parents and grandmother murdered in front of her if she didn't obey him, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

Talbot is a registered sex offender, according to Nebraska State Patrol records. He served three years in prison for sexually assaulting a child twice in 1998 and for forgery.
