Man arrested for allegedly starting Shasta County wildfire
Investigators have arrested Freddie Smoke III on suspicion of sparking the Bully Fire in Shasta County.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators have arrested a 37-year-old man accused of sparking a wildfire in Shasta County.

Cal Fire law enforcement officers say Freddie Smoke III was using a rental truck to bring supplies to an illegal marijuana grow site. They believe the so-called Bully Fire started when he drove he truck off road and the exhaust system ignited the vegetation. Smoke is now booked for recklessly causing a fire and marijuana cultivation.

The fire has now spread to more than 2, 900 acres is 10 percent contained. It's threatening 15 homes and more than 20 other structures, but all evacuations have been lifted.
