Fresno police say they caught a burglar in the act at a local school.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police say they caught a burglar in the act at a local school. Jose Cerna-Manzo is accused of breaking into two rooms at Columbia Elementary on South Trinity and East San Joaquin streets overnight and ransacking one for electronic items.

Officers found the 21-year-old on the campus after an alarm went off. They say he broke a window and climbed inside one of the portable classrooms. He later jumped out and tried to run but was caught with the help of a K9.

Police recovered all of the items and booked Cerna-Manzo into jail for this crime, along with two arrest warrants for other burglaries.
