Man dies in overnight Fresno shooting

Family held a vigil for 25-year-old Johnny Ruiz who was killed late Saturday in a southeast Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was killed late Saturday night in a southeast Fresno shooting.

Family identify 25-year-old Johnny Ruiz as one of the two victims shot near Peach and Huntington Avenues. The Fresno Police Department received a call of shots fired just before 11:00 p.m., and shortly after two men with gunshot wounds were dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center. A 23-year-old man was treated and is listed in stable condition while Ruiz died of his injuries.

Police say a white 2000's model Chevy Malibu with a Fresno State sticker in the back window was involved in the shooting.

This is the seventh murder in Fresno for 2016.
