FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating a possible kidnapping attempt and another related incident in Central Fresno on Monday morning.

Police say around 8:30 Monday a man approached a woman in the Bank of America parking lot in the Tower District. She said the man asked for her phone number, and she told him no. The man then offered her $100 to get into his van. The woman again told him to leave her alone. Then the man threatened to sock her in the face. At that point, the woman saw a security guard at the bank and told him what happened. The man left the scene in his van.

The second incident happened about 15 minutes later near Olive Avenue and Clark Street.

Police say the man approached a woman and asked for her phone number. When the woman refused his advancements, he grabbed her around hips and pulled on her. She hit the man and he released her.

The suspect then ran back to his van, went west on Olive, and was last seen speeding north on Blackstone. Police said a citizen chased the van, but was unable to get a license plate number.
