Man in critical condition after shooting at Fresno apartment complex

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Detectives are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in central Fresno.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday near Weldon and Angus. Police say a man in his twenties was sitting in the center of the complex with some friends. They were confronted by two to three men, some words were exchanged, and one of the suspects shot the man.

The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. He is in critical condition.

Detectives are interviewing people who live at the complex to track down the shooter. It's unknown at this time if the shooting was gang-related, however, investigators believe the victim and the suspect do know each other.
