Man killed in Delhi shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was killed after he was shot late Friday night in Merced County, authorities say.

The Merced County Sheriff's Office responded to a report that two people had been shot just after 11 p.m near the 15000 block of Shell Street in Delhi. Deputies found a man, believed to be in his 30s, and a woman with gunshot wounds at the scene.

The man was flown to a regional hospital where he later died while the female victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Juan Carlos Gonzalez, 25, was arrested in connection with the homicide. Authorities described Gonzalez as a "known gang member."

The shooting marks the second homicide of the year in Merced County.
