FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left one man with serious injuries.

The crash happened just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday near Fresno and E streets in Downtown Fresno. The victim's family members say he was dragged by the vehicle and suffered third-degree burns. They also say he went into surgery and lost his right leg.

Police describe the suspect's truck as a dark colored Chevrolet Avalanche. They say it's not clear what led up to the crash, but they believe there was some sort of disturbance beforehand.

Relatives say the victim had been at Mezcal Lounge earlier in the night, but it closed more than an hour before he was hit.
