Man shot in leg in Southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 41-year old man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the leg.

Fresno Police rushed to an apartment on Olive Avenue near Jackson Avenue to find a man bleeding in the car port.

The man told police he was standing by the mailboxes near his apartment when he was shot in his upper thigh.

Authorities are questioning his story because there was no blood evidence near the mailboxes and no one outside heard a gunshot.

Police say the victim is on felony probation.
