FAIRMOUNT PARK -- An investigation is underway along the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park after a stabbing, a reported abduction and the discovery of two bodies.

It began at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday when officers found a screaming, partially clothed, 20-year-old man in the 2300 block of Kelly Drive.

Police say he had been stabbed 9 times, had duct tape on his face and his wrists and ankles were partially bound.

The man told them he had been abducted, bound and driven around in a van with two other men, who were also tied up.

He said all three were then stabbed and thrown out of the van and into the Schuylkill River.

The man told police he was able to free himself.

Medics took him to an area hospital, where he is listed in fair condition.

Investigators began searching the area and soon discovered two bodies in 5-10 feet of water near the banks of the river.

Police say both of the victims had been bound and appeared to have been anchored to hold them underwater.

Multiple police units are on the scene as the investigation into the incident continues.
