Man steals $35K in bee hives, authorities say

A Sacramento man is accused of stealing 32 pallets of bee hives from an orchard in Madera County in March.

Authorities arrested this 51-year-old man for possession of stolen property. Madera county detectives, with the help of the Fresno County Ag Crimes unit, recovered the pallets at a home near Central and Golden State.

The hives' owner says the bees are worth about $35-thousand dollars.
