Mariposa man accused of shooting girlfriend in the back on Halloween

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in an attempted murder on Friday.

The man is accused of shooting his girlfriend in the back on Halloween night. He's identified as Nickolas Kjeldergaard, 24, of Mariposa.

Friday morning, deputies served a search warrant at the suspect's property and took him into custody. At the same time, they also discovered a large pot operation at the scene. Kjeldergaard's bail was set at $1 million.

Authorities also arrested a second suspect in connection with the drug operation. Jerrod Lancaster-Ames of North Carolina is being held on $100,000 bail.
