Merced police arrest man in murder of 15-year-old boy

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police have arrested an 18-year-old man who they say has been on the run for murder for more than a year.

Investigators say Francisco Arciaga shot and killed 15-year-old Luis Angel Zavaleta near 9th and N streets in Merced back in May 2014. They say Arciaga was already in jail for a separate shooting last month when the new charges were added on Thursday.

Investigators say they are still trying to track down two other suspects who have also been identified in the murder case.
