Merced Police find missing man with dementia

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced Police said they found the man that went missing last night and returned him safely to his home.

Ruben Ruiz, 66, walked away from his family's home without a shirt and with only khaki pants and shoes on around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

After hours of searching overnight, officers found his pants neatly folded along Yosemite Parkway, but there was no sign of Ruiz.

Merced Police said they found Ruiz in the area of Union Avenue and Yosemite Parkway. They said he was returned to the safety of his home.
