SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- The body of a missing 19-year-old pregnant woman from Twentynine Palms was discovered over the weekend, and her alleged lover has been arrested in connection to her murder, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Erin Corwin, wife of a U.S. Marine, was last seen leaving her home on June 28. Sheriff's officials said at the time that there were suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Corwin's body was discovered in a 140-foot mine shaft Saturday, according to officials. Her body was recovered a day later and positively identified through dental records.

Cpl. Christopher Brandon Lee, Corwin's neighbor, was arrested at 9 p.m. Sunday on a warrant, Anchorage police said. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop. Court papers show Lee was Corwin's lover.

Lee has been charged with homicide by officials in San Bernardino County, according to Anchorage police.

Corwin would have celebrated her 20th birthday on July 15.
