Mucinex issues recall for mislabeled liquid bottles

The company that makes Mucinex has issued a voluntary recall of certain lots of its products because of incorrectly labeled drug facts.

The recall was for the liquid bottles of Mucinex Fast-Max Night Time Cold & Flu, Mucinex Fast-Max Cold & Sinus, Mucinex Fast-Max Severe Congestion & Cugh and Mucinex Fast-Max Cold, Flu & Sore Throat.

A retailer confirmed that although the labels on the front of the bottle listing all the active ingredients were correct, the label on the back may have the wrong drug facts.

Anyone who has purchased a recalled product is asked to dispose of it by either by mixing the medicines with an unpalatable substance, like kitty litter or used coffee grounds, placing the mixture in a sealed plastic bag or throwing away the container in the trash.

Those affected can qualify to receive a replacement coupon for any Mucinex product using an online form.
