Authorities said greenhouses, some nearly the size of a football field, dotted the landscape. They said each garden contained hundreds of fully budded marijuana plants and a shed on the property was filled with hundreds more ready to be processed.

Agents said none of the growers were at the property when it was raided. They said there was only a German Shepherd that was chained to a tree without any food or water, and very little shade.

In total, authorities said they hauled away 502 plants that will be destroyed.
