FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno residents are being urged to get involved in planning for the city's future.

A neighborhood meeting took place in Central Fresno on Monday to discuss the city's proposed new general plan. The blueprint for the city's next 25 years of growth relies on input from citizens along with business and government leaders.

"Parks, schools, transportation, public safety, public utilities, land use, there are 12 total elements and they include all of the required elements that the state requires as well as some that the community is really very interested in," said Jennifer Clark, the city of Fresno's director of development.

The 500-page plan goes before the City Council in October.

A group called the Foundation for Fresno's Future has more information on the general plan. You can access their website by clicking here.
