Off-duty officer saves man from abandon business fire in Central Fresno
Investigators said the fire started at the back of the building near Belmont and Roosevelt.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are trying to find out what caused an empty business building to catch fire in Central Fresno. Investigators said the fire started at the back of the building near Belmont and Roosevelt.

They said an off-duty police officer saw someone trying to get out through a window and broke the window to help.

Officers believe that person may have been a transient.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Power lines were down and possibly caused a power outage in the area.
