A SWAT team member showed his gentler side by playing "Patty Cake" with a girl during a police raid.

According to ABC 6 Columbus, Officer Rob Campbell reached out to a young girl who was visibly shaken as a SWAT team searched the home belonging to Juan Hamilton in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Hamilton had been accused of stealing guns, and that he had taken off from a traffic stop earlier this month, police said.

Campbell asked the young girl if she could sing a song for him, and after she sang a line, the officer then told her that she should be a singer. The girl then asked Campbell if they could play "Patty Cake," and the officer played the game.

Lt. Ron Wright said officer Campbell put the girl at ease with his friendliness, and reassured her that they would not harm her or her family.

"Here an officer comes in. He's dressed in tactical police gear. He looks unapproachable. Yet he takes the time to sit down and sit beside this child on the couch and interact with the child on her level," Wright told ABC 6 Columbus.

Hamilton was eventually arrested for receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.

Video of Campbell's encounter with the girl was recorded by a fellow SWAT team member, and is available at ABC 6 Columbus's website.
