Officers shoot pursuit suspect who rammed patrol cars in Fresno County, authorities say
After eluding police for nearly an hour, investigators say the driver rammed their patrol cars after they boxed the suspect in near Simonian Farms.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An early morning pursuit in Fresno County ended after officers shot the suspect who rammed their patrol cars, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.

Fresno police officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle near Backer and Florence Avenues just before 1 a.m. but the suspect fled.

After eluding police for nearly an hour, investigators say the driver rammed their patrol cars after they boxed the suspect in near Simonian Farms.

At that point, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office says officers fired at the car, striking the suspect. The officers treated the suspect at the scene and rushed them to the hospital in stable condition.

One officer suffered a minor injury during the incident.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
