Parlier man accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Parlier man is under arrest for sex crimes with a 4-year-old after a tip to deputies last week. Jeremey Aslin, 27, was arrested late last week after detectives interviewed him about these crimes.

A small trailer in the outskirts of Parlier is where Fresno County sheriff's detectives believe Aslin was committing sex crimes against the 4-year-old who he knew.

"He is cooperating. Our detectives actually ran into him shortly after this report was made. He agreed to come in and do an interview with our detectives. They spoke with him at length and made a recording of the interview," said Tony Botti with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators aren't sure how long the sex abuse was going on, but they believe the suspect had contact with the child for at least the past three years. The criminal case began last Thursday, when someone who knew Aslin called the sheriff's office to report alarming claims the victim made regarding contact with the suspect. The child was interviewed too on a limited basis because of the young age.

"Four years old, they don't communicate like we do as adults. You're just trying to uncover some truth, and what we do know is that something inappropriate was going on, and that's enough for us to really make that arrest," said Botti.

So far, it's unclear whether there are any other victims. Detectives aren't sure if Aslin had contact with any other children over the past months or years.

Aslin will face a judge on Tuesday. He is in the Fresno County Jail with a bail of $775,000 for several felony sex crimes.
