Man struck, killed by car in Northwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway after a man was struck and killed by a car in Northwest Fresno on Saturday night.

The crash happened near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Shaw Lane just before 10 p.m. Fresno police say they responded to the scene and found the victim lying in the roadway with severe injuries.

The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died. His name has not been released.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with detectives. They're still looking into why the man walked out into the street.
