Police: Driver arrested after striking woman crossing street in Hanford
A woman is recovering and a driver has been arrested following a crash in Hanford Sunday night, according to police.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is recovering and a driver has been arrested following a crash in Hanford Sunday night, according to police.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. on 10th Avenue near Crass Avenue. Hanford police say the 27-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle. Officers say the male driver took off when they arrived at the scene.

Police say the driver, 56-year-old Kenneth Robinson, stopped after the accident but took off when police arrived. He was later arrested. Robinson is now facing felony hit and run charges.

The woman was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Authorities say she is expected to be okay.

It was not immediately known if the woman was in a crosswalk.
