Police investigate a deadly shooting in Central Fresno

Police are saying a gunshot victim was murdered by someone he knew. The incident happened on Teilman Avenue and Pontiac Way around 9 a.m. Friday and investigators were still questioning people on scene on Friday evening.

The Fresno Police Department has not released the name or age of the victim, but they said it was a male who likely lived in the neighborhood. There was apparently some sort of verbal argument that resulted in the shooting.

As of Friday evening, there had not been anyone booked in the Fresno County Jail for a murder. Everyone involved in this incident did know each other according to detectives.

A neighbor who lives down the street from the incident said he believes there has been gang activity at the house. He said people are constantly coming and going at all hours of the night.
