Police search for suspect in Southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- There were some tense moments in a Southeast Fresno neighborhood on Wednesday night after a suspect failed to stop for police and ran.

Fresno Police say they tried to stop a car in the area of Clovis and Butler. After a short pursuit, the driver of the jumped out and ran into a driveway and through a backyard. A passenger in the car stayed and was taken into custody.

Police set up a perimeter around homes but the suspect still managed to evade police and was picked up by another car. Police eventually stopped a car in the area they believe was involved and took a person into custody.

Police are not sure if it's the same person they were originally looking for.
