FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his own father in Southeast Fresno on Friday.

Peter Yang, 25, of Fresno was booked into jail on suspicion of murder.

Fresno police responded to the Torrey Ridge Apartments in the 200 block of South Clovis Avenue around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a man covered in blood. When they arrived, officers found a 59-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers performed CPR on the victim, but he died on the scene. His name has not been released.

Yang was detained for questioning and later arrested. Detectives say they determined Yang fatally shot his father, and the shooting stemmed from issues the two had together.

Authorities say they recovered the gun used in the shooting and that it belongs to Yang. They say the suspect had no criminal history, and there were no phone calls to the Clovis apartment where the family lived prior to the shooting.
