Junction Fire contained; Red Cross offers help to Oakhurst residents

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Red Cross will be in Oakhurst on Tuesday, assisting families impacted by the Junction Fire.

The fire destroyed 47 structures in the area and blackened 612 acres. Cal Fire said Monday morning it had full containment of the fire, which broke out on Aug. 18.

In addition to the Red Cross, the California Animal Disaster Team will be doing the same for people also in need of animal assistance.

To learn more about ways to get assistance or offer help, go to the Oakhurst Community Center, Road 425B, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Be sure to take identification that verifies your address.
