SoCal woman caught on video striking child in face with tablet
VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- A cellphone video shows a woman striking a crying child in the face with a tablet in a Victorville shopping center parking lot.
The man who recorded the video did not wish to be identified, but tells Eyewitness News he was shopping at Kohl's Wednesday when he noticed the abuse and began filming. He said he posted it on social media because he's the father of three children.
A Victorville resident who saw the video on social media then contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The woman was identified during the later investigation as 39-year-old Yvonne Camargo.
Sheriff's deputies examined the child and notified San Bernardino County Children and Family Services. Officials plan to submit the case to the district attorney's office.
The relationship between Camargo and the child was not released.
