FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Squaw Valley woman is now banned from working with animals in the state of California.
Crystal Kisicki pled "No Contest" to charges of animal cruelty in January. Now a Monterey County judge has banned her from working with animals across the state. Investigators say animals in her care were emaciated and not given enough food and water. Officers say she claimed to run a rescue group but was selling animals out of her car in Monterey County. SPCA workers there say the animals were being abused.
"The animals we rescued were sick. They were underweight, they have flea infestations, they had no veterinary record. Some of the spay and neuter surgeries look like they had been done pretty rudimentary," said Beth Brookhouser.
A judge has now signed court papers blocking Kisicki from ever working with animals at rescues, pet stores or even online in the state.
