The man accused in a drive-by shooting that injured a 14-year-old Exeter girl is now facing attempted murder charges.

FRESNO, Calif. -- The man accused in a drive-by shooting that injured a 14-year-old Exeter girl is now facing attempted murder charges.

Brendon Martin, 18, was arrested for the crime, but then cleared of charges last month. However, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office announced Monday night that he was arraigned on the charges.

Martin is accused of shooting 14-year-old Vanessa Cruz in April. She survived, but officials say the bullet is still lodged in her spine.

Investigators say Martin has been in and out of jail since the shooting for other crimes and a probation violation.
