FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police say they are searching for the man who tried to rob a Southeast Fresno bank Thursday morning but walked away empty-handed.

Employees at the Bank of America branch on Tulare and Cedar say a man in a red shirt and sunglasses walked up to the teller and demanded $300 in cash. He then handed the teller a demand note, threatening the teller not to alert anyone or he'd shoot.

But that bank branch is equipped with bulletproof glass across the teller line. So the teller kept the demand note and simply refused to give the man any money. The would-be robber threatened to shoot once again, then left without the cash.

Anybody who recognizes the suspect in the surveillance image is asked to contact Fresno police at (559) 621-7000.
