FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A company that helps children with autism was targeted by thieves Sunday.

Staff members from Learning Arts say someone smashed the windows of their van when they stopped to eat at Black Bear Diner on V Street in Merced.

The thieves stole 45 tablets, plus a projector and projector screen along with three iPhones. They say all of that equipment was going to be used to help children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

The company has contacted police, and staff members are urging residents to be aware of anyone trying to sell used tablets.
