Tipton teacher accepts plea deal in child porn, molestation case
A South Valley teacher made a plea deal on Tuesday after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old boy.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A South Valley teacher made a plea deal on Tuesday after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old boy.

Jonathon Urias, 26, was a band teacher at Tipton Elementary School. Investigators say Urias was charged with showing a child pornography, and being in possession of child pornography. He's was also facing a misdemeanor count of child molestation for pursuing inappropriate physical contact with the victim.

As part of his plea deal Urias will serve one year in county jail, five years felony probation, and he has to register as sex offender.

"We're always pleased when we get a plea as charged because don't want to have to put the victim threw this if its not necessary," said Anthony Fultz, Assistant District Attorney.

Urias is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
