Toddler critical after falling out of second-story window in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A toddler is in the hospital after falling out of a second-story window at a Central Fresno apartment complex. It happened just after 4 p.m. Friday at Park Grove Commons on Clinton Avenue and Fresno Street.

Fresno police say the preliminary investigation shows this appears to be an accident. Police say the child was playing near a second-story window and pushed the screen out, then fell to the ground outside.

The child is nearly 2 years old, and officers say the child was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived. The child is stable but in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center.
