Tribal agreement paves way for Chukchansi casino reopening
Tribal Leaders are looking to hire in anticipation of the reopening.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians announced Monday they have reached a settlement agreement with the National Indian Gaming Commission that will allow the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino to reopen in the near future.

The reopening date of the casino will be announced in the coming days. Tribal Leaders are looking to hire in anticipation of the reopening.

"We are pleased to be able to put more than 1,000 members of our community back to work," Tribal council member Nakomis Hernandez said. "The financial impacts of the re-opening will benefit Madera County, the region and our tribal members significantly."
