FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- In a message to students Monday morning, UC Merced confirmed that student Jennifer Mendiola is listed among the missing after the tragic event.

The following message was sent to students:

Dear campus community members,

With great concern, we are writing to inform you that Jennifer Mendiola, a UC Merced graduate student, is listed among the missing from the tragic Oakland warehouse fire. Our thoughts are with Jennifer and her family, friends and colleagues in this difficult time, and we will communicate additional information as it becomes available.

During these times, it is important to remember that resources are available. In addition to supporting each other through our friendships, counseling is available through the campus. Students can contact Counseling & Psychological Services at 209-228-4266 to talk with a counselor over the phone. Staff and faculty can access INSIGHT, our employee assistance program.

Sincerely,
