FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters contained a vegetation fire south of Kingsburg on Sunday. It broke out before 5 p.m. near Elkhorn and Bethel avenues.
At one point, the fire was threatening a PG&E substation and other structures in the area. The utilities company shut down the substation as a precaution, but it was not immediately clear how many people were without power.
Crews fully contained the fire at eight acres. Cal Fire crews remained on the scene checking for hot spots on Sunday evening. Firefighters from Kingsburg and Selma were also assisting. There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
