Water restored in Parkwood area of Madera County

FRESNO, Calif (KFSN) -- The water is back on for more than 600 homes in the Parkwood area of Madera County.

The community's only water well started to lose suction on Monday. That led to a "boil water notice" because of possible contamination.

Around noon Tuesday, crews shut off the water to lower the well about 60 feet. The water was turned back on around 8pm.

Officials have been passing out bottled water for the past two days, some of it donated by the local Home Depot.

County officials say even though the water supply is back on, the water still needs to be boiled until further notice.
