West Nile Virus found in Merced County mosquitoes

The Merced County Mosquito Abatement District says they have trapped mosquitoes that tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The district manager said the mosquitos were trapped at Merced College on June 24th, but the exact breeding site for those insects has not been found. Crews started spraying on the ground and from the air this week. They are reminding residents to eliminate any standing water around their property.
