Woman accused of killing common-law husband in Cutler

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman has been arrested after authorities say she killed her common-law husband in Cutler.

Shortly before noon Saturday, Tulare County sheriff's detectives responded to a home in the 40500 block of Topeka Road regarding a report of a man down. They say 55-year-old Sylvia Martinez struck the 49-year-old man in the head with a blunt object.

The man died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Martinez was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on suspicion of homicide.

The case remains under investigation.
