Woman dies in Central Fresno apartment fire

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is dead after a fire broke at her Central Fresno apartment early Sunday.

Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what happened. The fire happened at a complex on Peralta Way near First Street. Firefighters found a small fire in the restroom of one unit and later found the woman without a pulse and not breathing.

First responders tried to resuscitate her, but she died at the scene.

The woman's cause of death is unknown, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
