Woman hit and killed by Amtrak train in Merced

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is dead after getting hit by an Amtrak train Thursday night in the North Valley.

Police said the collision happened just before 7:00 p.m. in Merced near Santa Fe and Glen Avenues. Officers said the train conductor sounded the horn to warn the woman, but it doesn't appear she reacted.

The train was headed to Sacramento. No one on board was injured.
