KINGS COUNTY (KFSN) -- The power is back on in Kings County for several homes near a fatal crash where a driver smashed into a pole Tuesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said a woman in her late twenties to early thirties was driving along Excelsior Avenue near Highway 43 before 1:00 p.m. The driver drifted off the road and smashed into a power pole-- knocking out electricity to nearby homes for hours.
Investigators said the woman died at the scene.
They don't believe drugs or alcohol played a role the crash.
She was the only person involved in the collision.
