FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting in central Fresno.
Police say they received a call Saturday evening about multiple gunshots near Olive and Calaveras Avenues.
When they arrived they found a 35-year-old transient woman suffering from a gunshot wound on her back.
She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
Police are now trying to find out if the shooting was accidental or if the woman was targeted.
"She was just trying to get out of the heat," Lt. Joe Alvarez with the Fresno Police Department said. "She was just sitting down. She wasn't talking to anyone. She doesn't have any disagreements or anything like that. She heard the gunshots then felt the pain to her back."
Police say the building behind the woman was also hit.
